I look at the video of Shadow walking and I feel sad.
Because this fine good hearted mare got dealt such a bad hand.
She sure didn’t deserve her lot in life, but she makes the best of it. She is cheerful each and every day.
The burden to do the right thing for such a fine horse of good character weighs heavy.
I continue to gather information and weigh her options. These horses, the Eddies, Rains, Chases, Roxies and Shadows of our organization leave a lasting impact on our hearts.
All of these stand out horses made it so clear, that they were so deserving of our very best efforts.
They have defined us. They have defined me. And yes, so many tricky decisions to make along the way.
I believe the true followers of this rescue see that as well.
Shadow is not…. Just something to euthanize.
She is worthy of us… matching her heart …with our try.
